“How can you show patience towards another,
if you do not practise it on your own?..

How can you show tolerance to those you love,
if you do not first forgive the mistakes you have sown?

How can you meet others where they are at,
until you have first allowed yourself room to grow?”

It all starts and ends with me.
My outreach is determined by the depth of my inner peace.
How much I accept myself – in all my faults.
Determines how much those around me, reflect back at me.

Inertia – Break the Barriers

hit a wallEver felt like you hit a wall?
Tired… Frustrated… Completely over thinking about what it was that made you get started in the first place?
Ever thought to yourself – it would be so much easier to throw this in the ‘too hard’ basket. Things aren’t that bad anyway. Why would I need to change my circumstances…..

Yep, I’ve been there too!

But lets stop for a moment to think about this so-called ‘wall’ that I had been faced with… There was no physically presence. I couldn’t touch it. It was only felt – Ahhh! Ok, It was just emotional.
I could work with that!

So in conclusion; the wall I was experiencing was not a wall at all! It was merely a new area of existence within my own spirit that I was yet to explore…  AND if I took another few steps back….. it was actually coming to the edge of its borders. The end of its existence. Creating new habits for myself was tiring because it was redoing everything within me that I had been doing for the last 27+ years!

You see; (I had come to realise that) By default, my unconscious behaviors try to keep me where I am at. What I had really come up against is a simple scientific law of physics; I hit my inertia.

Inertia comes from the Latin word iners, meaning idle, sluggish.
The principle of inertia is one of the fundamental principles of classical physics that are used to describe the motion living_in_a_bubbleof objects and how they are affected by applied force. Or lack there of for that matter.

Newton’s First Law of Motion states that an object not subject to any net external force moves at a constant velocity. Thus, an object will continue moving at its current velocity until some force causes its speed or direction to change.

How interesting this new discovery was to me!
In a microwave generation that we live in. Everything evolves so quickly around us that we expect a matter of success to be the same. We want our goals NOW. We want to have a new car NOW. A new house. A better work / life balance. Why? Because I read a book that said the law of attraction says that if we think about it – it will happen! RUBBISH!
Our world might be changing but the laws of the universe were forever printed in the stars.

So yes,
Things take TIME to change.
It requires EFFORT
It means we wont always FEEL like it.
working hardIt means there will be times when we want to QUIT
& You better believe that YOU WILL BE TESTED to make sure you are worthy of the things that you are going after.

Why?
Because our basic instinct is to return to the space from which we came. Our comfort zone of laziness & to be honest with you – insignificance.

But hold tight, because the miracle is a few more steps into your discovery.
When we learn that the law of resistance is a good thing. Then there is nothing to stop us moving forward.

Break the barriers.
Break the motion that you are stuck in.
Break the inertia that is holding you where you are at!
Keep. Moving. Forward.
Until the momentum of your actions breaks the inertia! Leaving it with no choice but to follow the direction is which you are going.

Hope Happens

Ever felt like you were in a rut that you couldn’t see a way out of? Ever had a bad day that you felt was a little all too familiar? Waking up to the same mess, worry or defeat?
Ever heard someone tell you; ‘If you are going through hell, you may as well keep going?’

Everything that has ever changed the course of my life; or the life of anyone that I know has made a drastic change has started with one crucial thing. One special ingredient that made a detrimental difference in the way we might act, think or behaviour. That one thing I found was ~ hope.

talk_to_dogH – Hearing
O – Other
P – Peoples
E – Experience

Why you might ask was this such a crucial ingredient? In my experience, it was the only thing that opened me up to a possibility that things could be different. I accepted defeat at such an early age and I switch off to the world around me. I engraved a code of conduct about myself which I called ‘my reality’. My view of the world ~ the beliefs I had about all people, relationships and even myself. All backed by daily actions (or lack there of) that proofed the very existence of these beliefs.

Then, when things didn’t go the way I wanted them to – I experience some pain. Emotional, physical & eventually some serious spiritual pain. The only thing capable of pulling me out of this insanity was HOPE.
Being in a position where I accepted that I didn’t know enough to listen to what someone else has to say – (But most Importantly!) someone who I respected. Someone that has the life I wanted to live. Not someone who gives out opinions with no joint consequence in giving it. Not someone who would run me down & justify it with a comment such as “I was just being honest”. These kinds of people are not your friends…

God, the power of the universe, the ultimate creative intelligence – whatever it is called to you. Let me tell you, it speaks to you through people. Everyday people. Everyday.
And whether you know this or not; all goods things come from this power. The rest is free will and our own individual consequences. We are giving all the answers we need if we are able to be quiet enough to hear the message and the signals of life.

How much are you listening?listen

What is Fear Anyway?

Ever experience a feeling that stunted you from moving forward?
It feels so real that you cant help but get warped up in the very essence of it. The Bermuda triangle of your inner self.

Some call it fear.. What is fear anyway?

Fear is an idea built up in our mind/s.
It’s an inability to successfully comprehend something because you have yet to experience it.
It is your mind solely holding you back.
Yet it holds so much power in our world… Why?…

False Evidence appearing realWhat does FEAR stand for?
F – False
E – Evidence
A – Appearing
R – Real

The mind is a powerful thing.
It is structured to work for you in complex situations. It is a computer composed of data images and experiences up until this point.
Look around you, whose experiences have you computed that are not your own?
What TV shows are you watching that you are starting to take on a more realistic comprehension in your own life?
Are you surrounded by drama?

I was at the gym the other day; and I started to get into a fearful state. Everything in my body seized up and my performance dropped because I could not let go of this idea that what I was experiencing was going to be painful. Rather than take each moment as they came, my mind procrastinated and acted ‘safe’.

Do you know what the end result was?
I knew I could do better!

I knew that at the time, my mind gathered all this information of;
You are not as good as;
you shouldn’t;
this will hurt if;
blah blah.

Until I got to the end and realised; it isn’t that bad!

“My fear was overcome by doing”

Now that I could place a logical experience onto of it; it wasn’t so bad. I could do it again – and even better this time!

So what is fear anyway?
Inexperience.

Face your fears. release yourself from fear
Fail, do it again – better!
This is where the ultimate growth in life comes from.

Vision

“Your future is bright” he whispers in my ear.
All the hard work, your sweat, your tears.
It’s all coming to the end of its years.
Belief in yourself, your purpose: is about to become clear.

Confusion be gone, temptation at bay.
This life is yours for the taking, this voice leans over to say…

For my need to be right, I look and return to the current sight.
Nothing has changed… A mirror image still remains.

Yet, My heart can’t forget, those promises you set.
So I start to exist in his words, rather than in my disbelief and regrets.
My tongue starts to speak, words proclaiming its belief.
These physical boundaries will hold me no longer, just as long as I keep his word safe.

It is a gift… it’s a truth… That is saturating my youth.
They are words of infinite possibilities .. Choosing faith, above inevitability.

A vision for you

Happiness

happiness-comes-from-withinEverybody wants to be happy.

Everybody wants peace of mind.

At the root of every desire there is the ideal that “Once I have achieved this, THEN I will be happy”.

So how about this golden rule?

Become a participator rather than a spectator!

Participate with the hopes that through pain, there is glory. Through new tests, there is common ground. And then, just maybe! I will be the person I have set out to be.

How many people (carefully) watching on the side lines can say that? Staying within a comfort zone to avoid any risk of jeopardising that “Happiness” they so desire.

Friends, if we are servicing ourselves and our own needs and wants. It is safe to say, we will never be happy.
I heard a preacher in the weekends sermon say:

“Your life will be as big as the cause you commit to.”

Happiness may be a state within you but it is caused by getting outside yourself. Reaching out to others.

happinessWe all want to be happy…

So why don’t we start by making someone else?

Faith ~

Just the other day, I agreed to have a coffee with a newly made friend of mine. Fresh out of one job and looking for her next opportunity. She was confused about what her next direction in life was to be. Needless to say, we have all experienced a fork road in our life and so I sympathised.

“What is it that you want?” I inquired. I could tell by the look on her face that not many people had asked her such a bold question.
And to my surprise, she retaliated ” I have no idea but I know that everything is going to work out because I have faith.”

I was puzzled. I was not jolted by her faith – that may very well be true however, it surprises me as to how she configured somewhere in her lifetime that faith equals doing nothing and hoping for the best? After raising this awareness with a few other of my circle of friends, it struck me:
– Possibly the most misconstrued piece of information is that faith is passive.

Faith, is going after what it is you want and not knowing what you are doing but having faith that it will eventuate.
Faith is Action. Not a whole bunch of hopes and what ifs’.

To live a life based on “I hope my life will…” & “What if I try and..” than you are not acting out of faith for the better things to come.
In  my experience, life has worked in a predetermined law that if you put yourself through some short-term pain – you will get your long-term gain.
Why? Because change is not comfortable! Naturally we have to develop and grow through stages of our life – that also means emotionally, not just physically. The pain comes from disciplining yourself until the development moves through to the next season of life.

“…true freedom is impossible without a mind made free by discipline.”
― Mortimer Jerome Adler

If you really want to understand the works of Faith. Understand that it does not require you to cross your fingers and toes. Unpin your ideals as to what faith is and take a risk.
Faith was given to every one of us as a birth right. The higher the cause, the more forceful the outcome.

Get ready to inspire those around you. Act out on Faith. Act out with Action!
