About Express!

Who am I ?

I am just a girl who was once lost in the world. Found myself at rock bottom and with nothing but fear fuelling my existence, I climbed up hill in hope for a different way of life.

3 years on, I have a passion to impact those who have lost that hope. I have a drive to inspire a way of living that is far beyond their thinking, because others found it within their hearts to do the same for me.

I am a creative girl who has always had a passion for writing. I love the freedom of expression that comes from a closed mouth and an open heart. Being able to type out the thoughts as they arise and leave it at that. The raw emotion of how you feel.

Expressions are felt within and are only really serving if they help grow you in some way.
An outlet, a source of power. All within you.

Love, is within you.

  2. Excellent “About” section, really uplifting and liberating.

If you get a chance, have read of James Allen’s “As a man thinketh” (it’s a short book, and can be found online I think – book depository etc). The book echoes this quote of yours: “I choose not to be thought as a victim. I am my own victim of circumstance or success.”

Here’s a quote from the book: “A (wo)man’s weakness and strength, purity and impurity, are his own, and not another’s; they are brought about by him/herself and not by another; and they can only be altered by the him/herself, never by another.”

    Have a great weekend!

    • Thank you very much Gaiso! Appreciate you taking the time to extend your knowledge with me. That quote is spot on! Growing up, it was quite hard for me to grasp that concept, you know, always being in ‘victim’ mode.
A great thing I learnt over the years is- we already have everything we need within ourselves. We just need to find out how to access it. Mistakes, trials, tribulations & most importantly listening to others on how they experienced it all. Fascinating stuff!!
I love your blog too. Quote – “Goal: To be much more than the success I already am.” Great outlook! There is always room for more. The success I have may be different to yours but that quote made me smile.

  3. You’re very welcome Karina! It’s great the quote you said made you smile – as they say “A smile a day, keeps the blues away!”

Oh I know what it means to be in the “victim” mode – it took me some time to get out of that, part of the struggle was the bizarre comfort of self-pity. Thank goodness for positivity and epiphanies!

Totally agree when you say “we already have everything we need within ourselves”. Our strengths, our hopes, our dreams, originate from within.
Really glad you love the blog – I love words, and I’m in that place where I feel I have “found my voice”.

The quote you mentioned, about my “Goal” is as much encouragement as it is reality, plus it is multi-layered. I’ll say that, being in a place where I’m even more at peace, more whole, and more confident – despite all the material things of the world – is the success I desire.

“Dream lofty dreams, and as you dream, so shall you become. Your Vison is the promise of what you shall one day be; your Ideal is the prophecy of what you shall at last unveil.” James Allen’s “As a man thinketh”

    • Thanks Sean! Had a browse of yours yesterday too. Very enjoyable to the eyes and mind. Look forward to gathering inspiration from your thoughts as well 🙂
